On 19 January Lambeth CLC hosted an event to keep schools informed about the possibilities of using simple technology to support international links and partnerships with other schools.
The Centre can also support schools to develop the best setup using equipment they already have.
Lambeth CLC is working in partnership with its partners, the British Council, to build a network of linked schools.
In March 2007 Lambeth celebrated the bicentenary of the Abolition of Slavery. Lambeth CLC, being based at the Rectory Centre in Clapham Old Town, has a unique link to the Clapham Sect and those who campaigned against slavery.
As part of a series of events and projects commemorating this important aspect of Lambeth's history, the Centre is helping set up international school links in West Africa and the Caribbean. Children will communicate with partner schools using mobile phone technology, VOIP phones, email and the exchange of digital images.
Young people from across Lambeth had the opportunity to work alongside professional animators to create a series of short films.
